Current Natalie News:
Natalie Cole will be singing a duet on Yolanda Adams' upcoming album! Ms. Cole and Ms. Adams will sound heavenly together! There will be other great duets on Yolanda's album too; look for it to be up and coming.
Ms. Cole was a presenter at the February, 2008 Grammy Awards where Ms. Amy Winehouse was in the category. Ms. Cole later spoke out with good intentions on an issue that she felt was important. There was quite a stir aferwards. Her next project will be a jazz album.
Natalie is set to tour this Spring, 2008: Articles & Interviews.
Ms. Cole is a free agent, as she states. She will be making a new album and for the first time in 30 years, she can pretty much write her own check. Read about it by going to my Articles & Interviews page.
Natalie will be working on her first Gospel album whenever the Lord says so. Whenever He allows the album to come forth, it has been said that Stellar Award-winning, Kurt Carr, will be overseeing the project. (That's music to my ears! Can I get an Amen on that?)
Ms. Cole will have her own shoe line in 2008, and she said they won't be very high heeled. (Okay, I can't wait to purchase a pair!) Lastly, Inseparable/Unpredictable CD, which is an import, will be released on or about October 9, 2007! Look for the link to pre-order the CD towards the bottom of the homepage. Why not do it now?
Natalie appears on the new Ella Fitzgerald CD that was due out on June 5, 2007 , and you can preorder the CD on Verve Music Group's web site. Also, Los Angeles' Smooth Jazz 94.7, The Wave, will play the entire Ella Fitzgerald album this Sunday at 6:00 P.M. Pacific Standard Time. The link is 94.7, The Wave.
Ms. Cole hosted the Praise the Lord Program recently and it was such a blessing to capture the moment! She blessed the congregation with about three songs including Pastor Yvette Flunder's "Thank You" from Walter Hawkins' "Love Alive IV" album! What a treat it was! It would be great to see Ms. Cole with her own show, or even to see her appear on the big screen.
Natalie appears in the April 16, 2007 edition of Jet Magazine with her twin sisters (Casey and Timolin) and their mother (Maria Cole). Casey and her husband (Julian) recently got married.
April 5, 2007: Ms. Cole was the featured performer at ; the 23rd Annual Communications Awards Dinner of the National Association of Black Owned Broadcasters which was recently held in Washington D.C. Jazz icon "Little" Jimmy Scott, Mighty Clouds of Joy, Pam Grier and Dennis Haysbert were the honorees. It was a black-tie event that honored outstanding personalities in entertainment, communications, and politics. The article can be found in the April 9, 2007 edition of Jet Magazine.
March 24, 2007: The message boards are up again; enjoy chatting with other Natalie Cole fans.
March 7, 2007: Ms. Cole didn't win the Grammy for "DayDreaming" but she's still a winner anyhow. She also presented the Grammy for Best New Artist which is one of the first Grammy Awards she earned early on in her career. Ms. Cole is singing background on Macy Gray's new song entitled "Finally Made Me Happy." Catch the video on Macy Gray's website. She also appears in Nas' latest video and looks great as usual.
January 27, 2007: There's word that there is a Jazz remix to "DayDreaming" out there somewhere so check around for it.
Natalie's picture is featured in the Jet Magazine dated December 25, 2006. The caption states: Disco Queen.
Ms. Cole has been nominated for a Grammy for BEST FEMALE R&B VOCAL PERFORMANCE for Day Dreaming! Congratulations are in order!
Natalie is on page 22 of the Jet Magazine dated December 11, 2006.

According to an article in the Asbury Park Press, Natalie's next album (after Leavin') will be filled with original material and she will be writing for the album!

September, 2006: The United Negro College Fund (UNCF) taped An Evening Of Stars Tribute To Aretha Franklin on September 8 and Saturday, September 9th at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood. The three-hour special will air in January, 2007 on selected network stations throughout the U.S., BET and super station WGN Chicago. Aretha is the first female to receive the prestigious Award of Excellence. Presenters and performers include: Natalie Cole, Clive Davis, Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Esai Morales, Joss Stone, and more. .
August, 2006: Check Natalie's concert tour schedule because you won't want to miss her this time around! New concert dates have been added and let's not forget that her new album will be released next month. Also, request "Day Dreaming" on your local radio station!

July 12, 2006: Natalie's new single, "Day Dreaming," is due out late July; yes, it's a re-make of Aretha Franklin's tune! Natalie's new album, "Leavin," is due out on September 26th! It is an album of interpretive songs spanning country, blues, soul and even Euro-pop so make sure you go out and grab the single and the album as soon as they hit the stores! Also, be sure to call your local radio stations to put in your requests for Natalie...this is what fans have been waiting for; it's very exciting!
Natalie has spent the last 15 years as a multiplatinum-selling adult contemporary superstar and one of the premier jazz festival headliners in the world. According to an article by Chris Lee, Special to The Times dated June 18, 2006, Natalie is making a musical about face even if that meant butting heads with her label, Verve Records. She said, "They were like, 'You're the best jazz singer around. You can do another jazz album with your eyes closed.' she recalls. ''That's exactly why I don't want to do it again. I'm getting a little bored here. I sing jazz, but I'm not a jazz singer. There's a difference."
June 16, 2006: A musical tribute, which reportedly included Natalie Cole and Chaka Khan, was scheduled to take place on Monday for singer, Billy Preston who passed away recently.
Natalie brought the 4th and 5th graders from the Angeles Mesa Elementary School to the Magic Johnson Theaters in LA to follow-up their first spelling bee. She spoke to Magic and he covered all of the costs for them to see a special screening of Akeelah and the Bee on or about March 2, 2006.
March, 2006: Ms. Cole fractured her right arm while taping an episode of the hit TV show "Grey's Anatomy." Check it out here. The show aired on March 12th on ABC television network.
March, 2006: Ms. Cole received a Lifetime Achievement Award at last year's 36th Jazz & Heritage Festival in New Orleans! That's a well deserved award!
